Aston Villa are confident they can sign Brazil midfielder Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona on a permanent basis this summer.

Coutinho was not in the plans of Barca under Xavi Hernandez. Was loan out at Villa Park and joined former Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard.
